Mr. Kenny Milsap

It is with sad hearts that we acknowledge the transition of Mr. Kenny Milsap. Kenny, 63, of Isola, MS, slept away in glory, at the North Sunflower County Hospital, in Ruleville, MS.

The visitation will be Friday, July 4, 2025 from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Belzoni, MS.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, July 05, 2025 at 11:00 am at Persimmon Grove M.B. Church, Sunflower, MS. The body will lie in state from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

The burial will be at Blake’s Cemetery, Hwy 49 W, Sunflower, MS.

Mrs. Delcina Blakes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, Mrs. Delcina Blakes, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2013.  Mrs. Delcina was a devoted mother who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the heart and soul of her family, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Ms. Delcina’s spirit of resilience and love extended beyond her family. She retired from Delta Catfish Incorporated and was beloved by her friends and family. 


Mrs. Delcina was preceded in death by her parents Saul and Mattie Blakes. 
She leaves behind her loving children, 
Pastor Allen Blakes, Pastor Ollie Blakes,
Roger Blakes, Pastor Bruce Blakes,
Vincent Blakes, Elder Westle Blakes,
Anthony Blakes and Christine Blakes. She will be missed by her community, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and a host of friends.

HATTIE ASHFORD

2008

Ms. Hattie Ashford was the proud and loving mother of eight beautiful children with her husband Luke Ashford, who brought joy, laughter, and meaning to her life. She raised them with a heart full of love, grace, and strength, always offering her support and care.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her cherished daughter, Mary Wade. Her legacy continues through her children: Bertha Ashford, Wardell Ashford, Walter Ashford, Ann Ashford, Charlane Blakes, and Lizzie Ashford. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, a loving extended family, and a host of dear friends.

Although our time with Ms. Hattie feels far too short, we are comforted by the hope that we will see her again in the sweet by and by. Rest well, Ms. Hattie. Your love and presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
